It wasn't very unusual for Simon to answer a phone call, blanch, and sneak quietly out the door in the weeks since he'd returned from Ganon. He was fairly positive Kaito had caught him more than once, but before the older boy could stop him, Simon had disappeared into the shadows. "Please. I-I--" he clenches his eyes shut. "I can't fight you, but if I let you take it, he won't let me go home!" He's cold inside. He has no desire to fight, and no desire to take back what was stolen...
But he won't lose. He's clung to the idea of home through every job Ganon had sent him on, and the last thing he was going to do was fuck up his chances of going home tonight. He was desperate. He'd beg, if he had to. He had to go home.

He wipes his mouth on the back of his sleeve. His heart is in his throat, and his fingers tremble. One hand dives into a coat pocket--Ganon would have been a fool to assign him a guard position unarmed.
"Please. I don't want to fight!" I'm no good at it, you'd kill me!
