The joys of work, research and school = not much time for anything else. Did I also mention president of a fledgling student org? I'm just hoping to survive through the first weekend of October to be honest. I think by then it will slow down to acceptable levels of mayhem. Maybe.
Work is going good. Had my annual review beginning of the month. Got a $0.75 raise so I stay at $8.50 an hour. Sometimes it is good to know and be friends with the boss before going to work at their factory.
School is up and down. One of my classes is field observation. I'm over at West High School in Green Bay. Not so bad. I'm there second and third hour in a science classroom. Great! I'm also there seventh hour for freshman study hall. Suck. I think it more sucks that I couldn't have three hours in a row since it is about 30 min from campus to the high school IF I don't get caught by the drawbridge...... It's not as slow as the lift bridge, but I think there's more big boat traffic on the Fox River than the Portage. I'm loving my geology class. The professor is really great and I'm enjoying the material more than I would have thought. Probably because it's a good prof, but still fun especially since I need to take the next semester of it for the broad field science certification I'm shooting for.
Research is still eating huge amounts of time. The biggest development here is that with the weather being more fall like and thus cooler I can collect samples every three weeks instead of every two weeks. Buys me a little more time in between. Now, if I can just get caught back up instead of not quite treading water with it...
Windhaven's 30th Birthday this weekend. People should come if they can. Lots of good food. Lunch tavern is free and the DELICIOUS four course feast is only $10 (I think there might be a few seats still available, but contact the autocrat to make sure!). Heavy and rapier tourneys. A masquerade ball. It should be lots and lots of fun. Oh yeah, and a fighter practice on Sunday in case you don't get enough on Saturday at the request of some of our visiting friends. Yay for stick swingin'! I got a new sword mostly done (need camp foam to make a thrusting tip yet) but discovered I probably can't make the basket hilt and my half gauntlet cooperate to cover my hand enough. :( I'll have to ask around for advice on Saturday.
Other stuff of interest and note. Jeff Dunham is going to be at the Weidner Center on November 17 and there apparently aren't a lot of tickets left. Get them while you can! Also, George Carlin is coming to Green Bay too, but tickets are $50 and change. Period. *sigh* May not get to go to that one... Anyone want to see Reliant K and Switchfoot? I can pick up a ticket (if they aren't gone) for myself free and get others for $11. Let me know...
Anyway, got to get going. Catch you on the flip side.
