Last weekend was a miserable sports weekend, at least as far as the things that really matter: the Steelers beat themselves again, Football Gamecocks did likewise, the Shamrocks got beaten by Rob's lot (but held on to first place anyway) and the Penguins lost.
The Spidermonkeys' season ended with the proverbial whimper, as the next day we learned that no, not everyone made the tournament this time around (which hadn't been disclosed beforehand). It was a dreadful game ... I'm ashamed and I think we all are. Still. Someone put an APB out for the first baseman's bat; it went MIA about three games ago and never came back. What a nightmare.

* I'm working on humility... I hate to say it, but I'm kind of glad it's done for a bit.
Manchester United did win, however, shutting out Pompey 3-0. Coupled with the Chelsea loss, we're all alone at the top of the Premiership table! And Tony Stewart won his second race in a row, holding off Jimmie Johnson. Sorry, Andy; tell Jimmie to eat more pot pies. (As an aside, this has to be the only place where you'll get an English football update followed by a Nascar update.)
But that's just the sports angle ... most everything else went well. The weekend excursion to Ridgecrest outside of Asheville was nice, albeit a bit rushed. But it was a great trip and it was so nice to get out of town and get back in tune with God. I came away feeling unsettled ... the kind of feeling you get when God's working on you, trying to show you things. He did, and now the ball's in my court.
This week went by pretty quickly. Work's been good and we're selling the Messiah concert really well. I'm glad the weekend's here. I'll be off shortly to Carrabba's to celebrate Meredith's birthday with some of the old crowd. That'll be nice ... it's been a while.
