So... It's Sunday night already :/

The To do list:

-Meet peopleee :D

-Find use for chicken stock in pantry

-Karaoke

-upload PPE essay

-shopping!! :D New shoes needed, plus I want a copy of Eating Animals, and I am desiring spinach and lotus root!
(FAILED. but i ordered Eating Animals online, so hopefully it will arrive soon)
-JLPT

-(some) viola and piano (emphasis on word some)

-READING! (at last something apart from those readingS)
to finish:the history of love, eldest, the fatal equilibrium
(Economics related waffling sandwiched between departmental politics. The 'economics key' that solved the whole murder mystery was kind of lame actually, but I'm a sucker for detective stories, so was quite happy)
to start: after dark, the undercover economist
to continue: Romeo and Juliet
to buy: eating animals
to attempt to read: missed out sections of economics textbook, PPE readings
to ignore: ??? oh yeah. those high school math textbooks.
(So I failed this, and had to reread the whole chapter on differentiation instead :( )

-MOVIES!
STRANGER THAN FICTION (YEAHHHHHHHHHHH) Amelie, the Lord of the Rings

-Youtube!! Want to catch up with Michael Sandel's Justice lectures, plus sleuth around for more shin-chan and wait for the new episode of conan tmr and mourn a bit over the end of Inuyasha :(

-ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS//(I think I did that well enough!!)

On top of that:

1) Went shopping with J today, he got tempest gum so we both tried it and.. it's ok. I think my watermelon-craze is dying off... Bought stuff for dad's cake, made dad's cake. It's his birthday today, but he's in Hong Kong. He'll be back tomorrow night, which is when we shall celebrate! :D

2) Mom warned me of something I too have been noticing quite often of late- my chinese is actually, actively going down the drain. It's terrible! I almost can't carry out a proper conversation in just chinese and have to turn to frequently inserting English words into my speech. The only excuse I have that is slightly in my favour is the fact that these days when I'm talking to mom it's about politics or economics etcetc where there's so much terminology that I simply don't know in Chinese. But maybe it's just me, for the most part.

I feel bad and guilty and all, but all those years of chinese school have left an indelible imprint of resistance on my unconscious, so any mention of 'Chinese lessons' automatically translates into feelings of boredom and frustration and delight-at-alternate-activites-under-the-table. I know this is really bad and all, but. Okay. Maybe I'm just finding excuses because I can't bring myself to say I don't have enough time or drive to keep my chinese from slipping through my fingers. lfdkjklgjkldfjgkljeoigjfdklgjdflkgjlfd
