The Rabid Rabbit - Entry #246 : Big Day ^_^

Apr 23, 2005 00:15

Wow. Had a big big day today.

It started like any other. Me sleeping until almost noon, then waking up and playing video games in my pajamas, AKA: an oversized t-shirt. I'm in a stagnant point in WoW. I don't want to get to level 40 right yet, because I have a lot of green quests that will grey-out on me. So, I played Brood War instead. Kicked some Zerg and Terran ass.

Oh, don't let me forget that I need to buy covers for my headphones. The spongy black cover thingies fell off last time I flew.

But I digress, Lili was still sleeping so I was playing with my headphones on. Then Susan called about going shoe shopping like I needed, and we takled for a few. Then I got ready and went to work, but left early because no one was there yet again. So I headed over to the writing center really quickly to get the cover page of my APA paper done. I haven't quite written the paper yet, but meh, the only thing I really needed was the APA handbook to make double sure I was starting off on the right foot. Anyway, while I was there (well past one, which is closing time) Jade also came in to use the computer quickly, and Kelley was there finishing up some paper work. Then this girl comes in. We tell her we're closed, and she starts going on about how her grandfather died and she was out of town and the teacher said if she turned it in by the end of the day that it would not be late.

Granted that is a good reason, she's had the assignment for heap many moons. Its not like she was out of town for 58589430859043 weeks. A couple of days. She could have gotten it checked ahead of time, PLUS she should know (as it is common knowledge (but the general public is retarded)) that we close at 1pm. So she begs and pleads, and I was like, "Can't you just tell your teacher we are closed?" And she goes on and on and on...

I couldn't take her, because I am already 4 hours over than I am legally alotted to work, and I work the hours no one else can. My work hours are already on the boarder line as is, so I cannot simply "carry them over" to the next week as most do, I have to take paid vacation. You know, not work 4 hours but claim I did to break even. Well, I'm having a HELL of a time finding anyone who can take my place because I work those hours no one else can, as stated above. So no way I can take her, and Kelley just got out of surgery and has been feeling like shit. So Jade was nice enough to take her, although we made it very clear to the girl that next time she needs to plan ahead and not hope it will simply go her way, especially on an assignment she's had that long.

I left after a while, and came home and called Susan to let her know I was back early. Lili was awake so we invited her, and after Susan's shower she and Ryan came and picked us up. We went to the post office first, and Susan was a bit disorented driving, and actually turned into the wrong area and almost ran into the back of someone. *buckles seat belt*

We get to the post office after a few minutes of, "omg wtf am I doing" and I sent off a package to mom and something for the Jew. Then we head over to PayLess and I got 4 pairs of shoes for $45. I got a pair of high-performance running shoes, and a cute pink-and-white casual sneakers with bink ribbon in place of shoe laces. They are shiney. YAY TEH SHINEY!! *watches her own feet in trout-like awe of sparklies* I also got a pair of Hello Kitty sandals and a pair of Spongebob for the little brother. Then we went to a few other stores but I didn't buy anything except for a few CD holders at about 75 cents each at Gadzook's, which was going out of business. They were selling everything, even the hangers, racks, and shelves!

Then Susan and Ryan asked if we wanted to go to the Midland mall with them, since that is the usual weekend routine. After Lili and I made doubly sure we weren't imposing, we headed over to Midland. We went to Old Navy and I put together two *very* cute outfits for a decent price, got an awesome purple and black lace corset-style top that will go very well with my black skirt, and a white-and-pink trim top at a place called Rave that really emphasizes my breasteses without being ho-ish. Then we went to another Gadzooks that was having an "everything half off" sale and I got a gorgeous choker made from charred wood and beads, with a turquoise jewel in the middle, ala native american style. It looks good on me two. Everyone (even Ryan) agreed it was *made* for me, and with it being half off I couldnt pass it up. Then we went to eat at Fuddruker's, and OMG burger am good. *drools in memory of teh bacon cheddar burger* Then we went to a few other stores, and I got a pair of earrings that are absolutely hilarious (and kinky). They are handcuffs. They are set up so that one arering looks as though the cuffs have been threaded through your ear, and the other looks as though one is clipped to your ear while the other cuff dangles. It's awesome. Then we went to Bath and Body works and I got a Mother's Day present for my mom, and some hair care products for Tamir that Susan said worked really great. For eight buck it's worth a shot, right?

Then on the way out we were all faced with the carnival again. There was a carnival in the parking lot of the mall, and Susan and Lilian decided they absolutely had to go. I don't like rides, and coincedentally neither does Ryan. So while Susan and Lili bought tickets and decided what rides they wanted to get on, me and Ryan had a good hear-to-heart conversation about how much SAFER the world is when BOTH of your FEET are SECURELY on the GROUND.

And we laughed at Lilian's "OMG IMPENDING DEATH" face. It's quite the funny face. I wonder if all Kenyan's make funny "OMG IMPENDING DEATH" faces.

*sighs and stretches out* It's good to be back home though. *yawns*
