It's been about 3/4ths of a year since I've updated. The highlights of my life since then:
(in chronological order)
- A niece named Airee (birthed in my parents bathtub)
- Two weeks in Texas (Chaos in Tejas & Emissions)
- A trip to Costa Rica (zip-lining through the canopies)
- A trip to Jamaica with my boyfriend
- A Guatemalan foster brother (dead-ass serious)
- Another kitty (named Bambi)
- Fall 2007 semester (4 As, 1 B, and 1 C)
- Putting together a show for the first time (for three touring bands, one from France)
- Many trips to Tampa
- Getting the Tool - Aenima 2xLP and a hand-sewn panda for my birthday (among other things)
- The Fest in Gainesville
- This is For You Fest
- Seeing a million awesome bands (esp. WBTD)
- Daniel moving into my bedroom
Dan moved in two weeks ago to begin the semester at MDC. He is the greatest. He makes the bed and washes the dishes and lets me poke and prod him with tweezers and the like. As far as my semester goes, I'm two weeks in and I am already exhausted. I sleep less and less as the week progresses. Just making it to each of my classes is a chore. It takes me about an hour each way to get to and from my 10:00 AM MWF class! This is my schedule:
Monday:
10:00AM-10:50AM Endocrinology
01:00PM-01:50PM Invertebrate Zoology
05:00PM-06:15PM Tropical Ecology
Tuesday:
09:30AM-10:45AM General Parasitology
02:00PM-05:00PM General Parasitology Lab
Wednesday:
10:00AM-10:50AM Endocrinology
01:00PM-01:50PM Invertebrate Zoology
02:00PM-04:50PM Invertebrate Zoology Lab
05:00PM-06:15PM Tropical Ecology
Thursday:
09:30AM-10:45AM General Parasitology
(Then clerical work at an office for 3-4 hours)
Friday:
10:00AM-10:50AM Endocrinology
01:00PM-01:50PM Invertebrate Zoology
02:00PM-04:50PM Evolution
On Saturday and Sunday I usually have work at Betsey Johnson. I passed the one year mark at that store and I have a closet full of dresses to show for it.
Another big upcoming event is a move. My parents bought a new (old) house this summer that was decorated in the 70s, complete with foil wallpaper and wood-panel formica bathroom decor. Since July, they've been gutting and reconstructing it and we may finally move in soon. The best room in the house is my bathroom, which was also the first room completed. I designed it with a claw-footed tub and white subway tile. It looks awesome; I can't wait to use it already.
One major reason why I haven't come back to lj in so long is because although I initially felt too busy to write, I've grown intimidated by it because it reminds me of how mundane my own (and everyone else's) life is. Oh well. Pictures to come.
