Re: my try at explaining part II (and the last xD) orenji_kiseki November 2 2010, 18:52:06 UTC
Sure I saw his outburst of emotions then. Many, many times (laughing hard at his reactions too) saw how the tension of unsolved rotten emotions of eight years exploded inside him. Quite intense and many would call it insanity. It was his peak, getting back on Saejima, because it was like a starting point of his.
Don't we all act insane like that, once in a while, angry all inside and outside wishing even after many years to break free? But if you treat it like some effect of his disorders, then it's fine for me as well.
He's on the borderline, but BPD is a little too much to say. But I could agree on Intermittent Explosive Disorder, he sure had it, at least temporary. Still I really liked the way you described him, very spot on.
There are people with mental disorders between sane people as well though... there is this line, though sometimes hard to tell.

to your questions:
- Yes, I do wonder why didn't he turn himself in earlier. Going on with my theory, it would be because of Kamiyama. Maybe when there wasn't any case recognized about Misaki's death as being unnatural, those people like Yoda-san or father told him there's no point? or maybe he still considered suicide so he didn't consider going to jail? No idea really. Maybe he saw how people aren't always punished for what they did and it got to him that he won't either. Maybe all of this mixed together. Too bad we don't know. I would gladly go into his head for that~
But about Kamiyama and Honma's friendship... it is possible to hate your best friend for something, yet it's still friendship. People's feelings sure are complicated, especially if one is resentful (petty people are really resentful). And obviously Honma didn't hate Kamiyama enough as to not talk to him about Misaki's birthday plans or about his insecurities that they will part their paths in life and so on. Besides, the way he smiled to both of them, and not only Misaki, in the flashbacks, say more than any of his hurtful words.
- Maybe the scandal wouldn't be out, maybe it would. In japanese society, they tend to blow on the cold with that. yeah, I know, many people arguments such topics like that, but they really are like that. One scandal for an idol and you're out. And companies really have troubles with even the smallest problem or article printed in newspapers. And no matter how much you deny, society start to be suspicious of you. Even in politics, it's really easy to fall out when comparing to other countries (or more like, to Europe). They're always doing the 'safe' strategy - absolutely avoiding anything that could be potential danger/problem.
- I think at the end Yoda-san's actions can be seen as what he said to Kamiyama: "I can't bear to lose him". Meaning, it has come to the most critical point, so all that matters is Honma staying alive.

I know you didn't say it directly, but you never said anything besides him being ignorant of the evidences he left out. So at the end of the post, it felt like Honma turned out into a criminal all set to silence the only witness. Sorry, it probably wasn't your intention, guess it was me being very naive, sorry, sometimes shows up.

Sorry if you found it in any way offending, I read my comment few times before posting and didn't see any tone even close to bitching. I did use some emotional, more intimate input like 'come on' though... that probably was inapprotiate. I thought the context shown it wasn't meant negatively.

I'm actually suprised the discussion about QS is still alive from time to time. Do you really find all the holes only dissapointing? I actually really enjoy some of them. I love how some questions only bring more questions. I can dig and dig and dig~~
and I'm glad you weren't discouraged with the length of my comments.

And so, I have a question (hole?) as well. What was this place Kamiyama was put in? Most people consider he locked him up somewhere and kept like a prisoner. But it was never said directly. I heard some theory it was the same building as the Ginga tv... but why would they need to use a car to transport Kamiyama then? (and where does he put his white clothers back? we can see him in white clothes when he's going through the corridor, but still in host clothes in the car...)
