Entry #4

May I just say to Mister Boot of Ravenclaw that this football tournament was a lovely idea? Well, since (a) I already said it and (b) it's my journal so I can write whatever I like it (which doesn't mean that I will, unlike some other people in my year), that statement is sort of self-defeating, but nevermind. It's so nice to see students who don't usually play sports getting out there, and it was good to note how many teams there were from mixed houses as well. Because Quidditch, while fun, does seem to antagonise house rivalries a little particularly when it comes to Slytherin. Congratulations to the teams who made it to the semis, but well done to everyone who participated.

But having said that, the gloating emitting from a few sectors of my former house is somewhat grating. This morning Madam Pince looked ready to cough up furballs got very angry after some fourth years burst out with an impromptu victory song (to the tune of "Weasley Is Our King") although one of them did have a rather striking barritone. And charming big glowing "L's" to follow around members of the all-Ravenclaw team is possibly not the best way to win graciously, hmm? Even the mostly Slytherin side who also finished undefeated aren't boasting to this extent, the shame...

Finally, thank you to my helpers of the past few afternoons and despite my fears, Seamus and Dean didn't cause a disturbance and were actually somewhat productive. I thought the task of resorting the library by myself would take me until this Friday at least, and that was only if I worked overtime. But now (thanks to Misters Finnigan, Smith and Thomas and Miss Bones) instead of going home to an empty apartment why do I still miss him? and having to fend for myself food-wise, I can clock off at five and eat with Oliver before he heads out for his shift. It is good to see that even during these times, there are still selfless individuals out there are you reading this TERENCE HIGGS?
