[It's with a start that the Keep empath wakes once more in her room, but unfortunately since her untimely death she has no idea where or whom she is.

She rises from her bed, breath coming quick and raggedly as confusion fills her mind.

It would be far too simple for her to remain in the room alone until someone came to her, but things never work ( Read more... )

[She might not remember you Sollux, but she'd have reacted the same even if she could. She would have a new respect for the young troll from this day out, without question. She feels his shift in emotions, that thin tremor of concern even if it's masked mostly still by anger. She feels the self pity like a spike through her head and then he's replying and for some reason she feels a bit surprised by this; as if his doing so was a rare thing.]

I hear .. s-something .. [What it was, she couldn't be certain, but it was there. Beneath the surface of Sollux's emotions was something far bigger than the troll had ever told.] Like f-far too much for one mind to feel.

[She's falls silent, feeling as he mentally kicked himself, even if she couldn't quite describe that emotion. He was clearly not thrilled, though.. It was doubtful that she would offer to help, even after recovering, as that anger was most prevalent and intimidating. Still ..]

You shouldn't .. There's so much weight .. [By the stars, her head hurt .. His mind was so full and if it was painful to her, henlikely suffered its weight all the time.] Have you always been as thus?

*He crosses his arms and continues to regard her not bothering to move closer or further away.
She didn't really deserve an explanation, but maybe giving her a small one would keep her from hunting him down for more once she remembered who he was.*

Those are the screams of the imminently deceased, even if they're obscured by this fucking keep. I've always heard them, I always will, and its why I'd prefer if you stay the fuck out of my head.

*The anger spikes some with that last sentence as he dwells on the trouble said voices have caused him. And as it spikes Talia might just notice the red and blue energy sparking above his head (like on the first icon 8D). He's not planning to do anything with it, it just happens when he gets worked up.
He hmphs and makes an effort to calm himself, at least outwardly, and the energy fades as he does. He's still pissed, and very much on edge, but is trying to hold it in check. Except it seems like he'd explode if jostled wrong.*

Don't fucking worry about what I should or shouldn't or, hell, anything about me. Just go find your coddamned matesprit and hide somewhere far away from the rest of us until you remember how to stop fucking screaming.

[She didn't know what she'd done to make this one so mad at her, but it was perfectly apparent by his words and the emotional surge that accompanies them that she had. She was obviously annoying him, but he still opted to answer her and for that she was grateful beyond words. Sorry, Sollux, she can't help but feel grateful and share it with anyone around. :(

Her brows knit in both a combination of pain and reaction as he tells her about the voices. Then she begins to feel small and terribly guilty as he snaps about her being in his head. He gets mad as he says such and her yes flit momentarily to the sparks of blue and red over his head before they vanish again.]

I'm sorry .. I mean you no ill will and it is apparent that I have done you a wrong even before this. I .. I am sorry.

[And in possibly one of her smartest moves regarding Sollux, she makes absolutely no offer of aide, nor does she even bring up the voices in his head again. True, she wouldn't know how to help right now anyway, but in this innocent and blank moment, she knew that he didn't want any help, and not just from her. Perhaps that was the self pity he'd wrapped himself in and perhaps it was far more what he hadn't told her, but he wasn't ready for help and she'd not press where she wasn't wanted.

She looks away as he tells her to stop screaming, understanding that he means her mind, but at a complete loss for the time being.]

I'm sorry .. [My, but she was saying that a lot today. If anything it makes her feel all the more guilty and worthless in help current situation.] I'll go .. [She doesn't know where to, but there has to be someplace she can go to hide. Someplace she can go that she won't hurt anyone else .. She doesn't know if Sollux is picking up on her intent, but it's pretty much at the fore of her thoughts just now.]

*The fact that she feels grateful towards him for answering actually annoys him more. Partly its due to feeling anything from her, party its due to making her feel better instead of worse. But whatever, she'd clearly feel however she felt and he wasn't able to do anything about that, nor did he care to try and understand it.*

You aren't sorry. You might think you are now but when you remember you'll know better.

*He is absolutely convinced of this, and his bitterness at it--and at what she did to Isabella--could possibly be sensed even if she had her shields up. Isa meant very much to him and Talia had hurt her, Sollux might have been able to ignore the discomfort Talia caused him, but no one fucked with his moirail and got away with it.
Except Talia got away with it, because doing anything here meant facing retaliation from the lord of the keep and her mate. Something Sollux wasn't prepared to deal with at this time.
As for offers to help...he truly believes there's no help for him. This is something he's stuck with, and it seems not even death can change that. There's no way some meddling human, or anything else, could do anything about it.

He sighs and shakes his head at how strongly she wants to stop hurting people. As far as she's concerned until she can do something about it it doesn't matter how she feels.*

Go to one of the far corners of the keep then, past the lake or near the forest, then maybe you'll be far enough away from the rest of us to do some damned good.

*He hmphs again and turns to leave, he can find another path to his destination than past her. And he has no reason to fear turning his back on her would leave an opening; she's clearly in no state to attack. But still the line of thought that turning his back on an enemy may not be wise is still there.*

[Ouch, Sollux .. ouch.

She has no words.

She gets all of that in spades, but it's that final stab in the back' lack of trust that really stabs it all home. Boy did she regret whatever the hell it was she'd done to him. Her reply is muted and the only thing Sollux might pick up from her is dismay and confusion before he's out of sight.]

I .. I will ..
