Julie is trying to distract Spanner, with very poor results.
He has tried to play monkey on the man’s back, only to get bored of it after the first twenty minutes without any visible reaction. He also tried playing snake over the man’s lap, and Julie swears that Spanner is more bones than he is muscle, for all the trouble his elbows have put him through. He’s tried to play with the mechanic’s hair, tugging on that lone danish swirl-curl- - -

A strangled choke of his name- - “Julie.”
Julie grins.
“Somethin’ wrong, babe?”
