1. warlordkittens gave me a flower on my Facebook for my birthday. *mwah*

2. Got a new binder! It should do well. It is UnderArmour3. Got a last.fm account (as azurejay). It doesn't seem to work very well. Sometimes it misses hours worth of stuff (yes it's turned on). And the site is really slow and half the features don't work for me. Maybe it's Firefox? IDK ( Read more... )

UA make sport clothing, including compression shirts for wearing under equipment. They're light and cool and not made of medical-grade elasticized polyester, yay. They come in different colours and sleeved/sleeveless versions, and you can get ones with mesh backing for extra coolness (I am too well-endowed to wear these ones, unfortunately). They're slip-ons, made to go seamlessly under clothing/equipment, so there are no Velcro/zipper/snap ridges. I will need to do some trimming around the neckline so the collar doesn't show, but that's a problem with Underworks shirts too.

I don't think they have distribution in Australia, so they might not be cheaper than Underworks or whatever, after shipping costs, but they're fifteen-twenty dollars less for me. And even if you can't get UA, you might be able to find a different sport compression shirt if you're interested in trying them out.

Not a product specifically for binding, but a better (cooler, cheaper, more easily available for those in North America) alternative (imho) than medical compression garments, especially for guys with smaller chests (I need to add Ace bandage to mine for the ever-elusive True Flatness, but I'm a DD, so). I say all this as a longtime, mostly-satisfied user of Underworks products (I'm trying UA out 'cause I'm between sizes on my two Underworks, short on cash, and need something fast for Wincon).

The best part might be that, because they're sport shirts, they have a little label spot on the back of the neck that says "#___" for team laundry. I haven't decided what my number is yet :P

The compression shirt I got is a HeatGear (for wearing in hot weather--they also make ColdGear for, um. Cold weather. Brilliant naming, I know) Full T-shirt. The ones with the mesh backing are HeatGear Metal.

I think the only problem with this product is that you've got to navigate the sometimes baffling language of sports marketing, hee.
