I couldn't stop cracking up over Johnny Depp. I thought his interpretation of Willy Wonka was pretty inspired. Ive read the book multiple times, seen the Gene Wilder classic many times aswell and yet the magic of this story never seems to grow old. There is still something so fantastic about that factory and intriguing about Willy Wonka and truthful about the representation of modern children as gluttons, materialistic, greedy, and spoiled. When you read a fantasy novel, the vivid pictures painted in your head are unique to you, but its interesting to see other interptetations of the same material. I didnt like the oompa loompas that much though. Or shall I say the single oompa loompa multiplied again and again. The old ones were classic.
I want to rent both movies when the new one comes out on video and have a Willy Wonka fest!!!! With lots of candy!! YES!!!!
