We wanted to make sure that you, future Offerers and Bidders, have a wide range of great organizations that are legit and trustable. We want you to feel comfortable when posting your offers, and of course, bids, that the money will go to a charity that stand by their, and our, cause.
NOH8, It Gets Better Project and The Trevor Project are just a few of the organisations out there working against discrimination of the LGBT community. Some aim to help the younger generation believe in themselves, while some focus on equal rights in marriage - but they all work towards a easier life for those who are discriminated and bullied because of their sexuality or what gender they identify with.
“We believe that even an organization fighting to repeal Prop 8 will firstly, help show LGBTQ kids that there are people who care and that marriage is a right everyone should have, and secondly, give them more options in their potential futures. Our primary goal, however, is to aid organizations that are actively working to combat anti-LGBTQ bullying.” - kishmet , The Purple Dove Project
For example, NOH8 is a photographic silent protest created by celebrity photographer Adam Bouska and partner Jeff Parshley in direct response to the passage of Proposition 8. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths, symbolizing their voices being silenced by Prop 8 and similar legislation around the world, with "NOH8" painted on one cheek in protest.
The Trevor Project, on the other hand, is determined to end suicide among LGBTQ youth by providing life-saving and life-affirming resources including a nationwide, 24/7 crisis intervention lifeline, digital community and advocacy/educational programs that create a safe, supportive and positive environment for everyone.
Many young people face daily tormenting and bullying, leading them to feel like they have nowhere to turn. This is especially true for LGBTQ kids and teens, who often hide their sexuality for fear of bullying. Without other openly gay adults and mentors in their lives, they can't imagine what their future may hold. In many instances, gay and lesbian adolescents are taunted - even tortured - simply for being themselves. It Gets Better Project wants to remind teenagers in the LGBTQ community that they are not alone - and it WILL get better.
We don’t want to limit you to these three organizations, far from, but we want to have a chance to check the organizations, and approve of them. Even though we are open for a wider range of charities working to aid every aspect of a young LGBTQ teen, we still want to think quality over quantity.
We wanted to make sure there is a chance for everyone to participate, no matter where in the world you might be. So we need your help!

The GLSO operates the only Pride Center in Kentucky, which is often utilized as a free meeting space for GLBT organizations in the community. For more than 30 years, a monthly newsletter has been published and distributed all over Kentucky. And for the past few years, the GLSO has planned and executed the Lexington Pride Festival with help from many wonderful volunteers from the community.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) amplifies the voice of the LGBT community by empowering real people to share their stories, holding the media accountable for the words and images they present, and helping grassroots organizations communicate effectively. The National Youth Advocacy Coalition (NYAC) is a social justice organization that advocates for and with young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ) in an effort to end discrimination against these youth and to ensure their physical and emotional well-being.
