You make some excellent points, ones the mods were just discussing via email! Your second point, in particular; tomorrow we are going to make a post where users can submit charities for investigation. We want to look into all the charities suggested to make sure they're legitimate organizations. We would like to provide more charity options to offerers and bidders, including some operating in countries apart from the US, if possible.

In terms of the cause we're supporting, it's been a little tough to narrow it down. For me, I feel that even an organization fighting to repeal Prop 8 will firstly, help show LGBTQ kids that there are people who care and that marriage is a right everyone should have, and secondly, give them more options in their potential futures. Our primary goal, however, is to aid organizations that are actively working to combat anti-LGBTQ bullying. Do you think it would help if that was stated more prominently in the userinfo and elsewhere?

And yes, offerers are absolutely allowed to specify which charity or charities they would like their bidders to donate to. It'll cut down on problems later if that's established within the offering posts; I'll add that to the offering post text we have written up. I'm definitely aware of the problems some people have with It Gets Better and possibly others; a more comprehensive list of charities will probably make this easier to work around, so participants have a wider variety of donation choices. Thank you for your input, and if you have any other thoughts or suggestions, we'd appreciate them!
