ROCK ON!

I'm a music junkie, and I like to think I'm observant. There are certain things that I pick up on or find amusing trend-wise. Sort of like going to the rap section of a music store and picking up random CDs and turning them over to count how many songs have "featuring...." on them, as if to make you wonder if a rap artist could make a song on his own. Or do the same thing with a Celine Dion CD and counting how many songs have the word "love" in them. Or listening to songs by the band Live and seeing how many times they use the word "love" or "water" or a body of water in their songs. It's A LOT. Or what about that U2 song with the word "love" or "peace" in the lyrics. :)

Well, I like the band Live. And I like some of U2's stuff. But there is one band that I've been fond of for years. And if any band is guilty of repeating themselves, AC/DC is it. If you like one AC/DC album, you'll probably like them all. They don't differ much.

And then one day I thought to myself, "Rock. Rock. Hmmmm. AC/DC has a LOT of songs with the word ROCK in the title. I mean, I could probably think of 20 songs by them with the word ROCK in it."

So...I did my homework finally. And my findings?

1. ROCK and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
2. Hard As A ROCK
3. Whiskey On The ROCKS
4. ROCK 'N Roll Train
5. She Likes ROCK 'N Roll
6. ROCK 'Roll Dream
7. ROCKing All The Way (BTW, 4-7 were all on the same album!)
8. That's The Way I Wanna ROCK 'N Roll
9. ROCKer
10. Let There Be ROCK
11. It's A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna ROCK 'N Roll)
12. There's Gonna Be Some ROCKin'
13. For Those About To ROCK (We Salute You)
14. ROCK 'N Roll Singer
15. ROCK 'N Roll Damnation
16. ROCK Your Heart Out
17. Can't Stop ROCK 'N Roll
18. R.I.P (Rock In Peace)
19. ROCKin' In The Parlour

OK, I was close. Only 19, and not 20. But still....isn't that bit over the top? And the fact that #'s 4,5,6, and 7 were all from the same album...the NEW album that just came out in 2008. Wow.

So, if you've ever wondered how many AC/DC songs have the word "ROCK" in the title...now you know. :)
