Why yes, guess who's reading the FAQ while you guys are away 8D
Juuuuust curious -- if the NV can take on any form the character's most comfortable with, can it still change appearances after the character gets them? The most plausible scenario I can see this in is after someone does a canon update and finds a more suitable shape for their NV.
I think, once the NV has taken its initial form, it'd stay that way. If they did a canon update, taking the character out of game for a few days, we could discuss a new form, but on a general basis, to update the NV, changing it would require buying upgrades or a new NV altogether.
Fortunately, they tend to be less expensive than most other electronics, unless you're getting really fancy.
Sorry, another NV-related question specifically for characters who'd assume two identities: would it be possible to use two different journal names, assuming that each username would be a character's unique network ID? In addition to this, is a character allowed to own two NVs - the one received upon arrival, and one purchased at a later date? Thanks!
We talked it over a little bit and, though we really do want to support characters who are doing double-agenting and have multiple aliases and such, we think that having two separate journals for one character might overly complicate things.
We thought perhaps we could compromise on one character being allowed multiple entry tags for different aliases that could be used on the communities for entries by different personas. (ie. there is both a "Matt" tag, and a "Morgan" tag)
For example, say Matt has an alias named 'Morgan,' he could use one journal, but could have multiple tags on the communities so that posts for each alias can be singled out.
Do you think that would work well enough for what you want to do?
As for in-character, having two functioning NV's, I believe that would be possible, providing your character purchased them!
This is a pretty good question. We would allow silent protagonists to be played, providing the personality section was thoroughly filled out and well-supported. Also, in the specific case of the Persona games, there are supporting manga and other resources that can provide some supplementary personality info, to help with personality support.
We're sorry, but we've decided to disallow all AU versions of characters, or characters previously played in an AU game where non-canon history has to be made up for the character. This is mostly just to ease up confusion on the part of canonmates and their players.
Basically, we'd like all characters, even those imported from other games, to be based on the same canon.
The reason we selected that level was mostly because of the possibility of adult themes that might be visible in the community, to protect younger people who might surf the game.
If it's causing issues for 16 or 17 year old players, though, we can certainly lower it a bit, since the focus of the game isn't on anything sexual (though, considering the setting, we expect there will be a lot of violence).
As a 17 year old player it does make things a bit frustrating to browse the community! Aha! I didn't even notice it until a friend mentioned it to me, and it made me freak-out and wonder exactly what I was reserveing to! (since--as you probably know--most games 18+ locked are sex-games)
Though I think the 18+ age limit is a bit extreme, your answer is perfectly valid and I completely understand! I just wasn't sure if it was an accident, or of there was something else going on.
Yeah, Siren's Pull is definitely not a sex game. I wasn't aware of how annoying it would make it for players who were technically allowed in the game but under 18, so I appreciate you letting me know.
I'll go see if I can change the filter level to 14+ instead.
Sorry if this is a weird question, but what if one wished to apply for a character from something that hasn't been released in North America? Um, for example, Final Fantasy XIII, Birth by Sleep or Tales of Graces.
It's fine if it's not allowed, I was just curious, is all.
As long as a game or other canon that's been released in another country has a significant English resource for us to look at in comparison to the application, it should be fine. We've already accepted a reserve from Birth by Sleep, in fact.
Basically, we just need to be able to look up information on the canon in question so we can get a good feeling for how the application is.

(This AU makes more sense than the canon version, even in canon.)

Is there any reason there's an 18+ age limit on the main community (sirenspull)?
