pugs practice and mayhaw recording at ky's place today. me and m'pugs be playing at mississippi pizza on feb 19, so we gotta get practiced up. we've been playing once a week for the past few weeks, and i could tell most of the rust had been scrubbed away with RUST-AWAY. we recorded the mayhaw classic "put me out" for his album. we tried using a four-track to track it. mayhaw played drums and i played guitar while ky engineered and manned the infernal machine. mayhaw's always looking for a good blown-out drum sound, and i think we totally accomplished it. the drums sound awesome. mayhaw will then record bass on his four-track at home and then we'll dump all that to my computer and overdub from there. i think tracking live to four-track is the way to go.
after that, alyssa and i made chili. CHIPOTLE chili with BLUE CHEESE crumbles. my favorite kind of chili. it was awesome.
after chilitime, i headed to the white eagle to see the return of hand check. george hadn't played for about a year. i was surprised to find out that he wasn't using his casio or his laptop, BUT A REAL LIVE DRUMMER. caws (of the ed forman crew) played drums for him and it sounded great. george even made use of my method of octave pedal and fuzz! hah. he took it even further though with a whammy pedal. those things are so cool. they sound so unnatural, i love it. it was very much a "first band's show" kind of show, but it was totally rad to see him play again. i missed my george. a few new songs too, which were great and super riffy! apparently him and caws are going to keep playing, so i'm excited to see more.
what's a dub sack?
