yesterday was thanksgiving. me, alyssa, my brother and my parents ate at gustav's. it was supposed to be on the rheinlander side, but apparently the people who booked the reservation messed it up. we've been eating there on thanksgiving since 2008. i had an awesome prime rib. it was cooked rare and delicious. after that, alyssa and i drove to milwaukie to the perkins family dinner at alyssa's uncle kelly's house. he has a HUGE LCD widescreen TV mounted on his wall and he made us played uncharted 2 for the PS3 when i said i had never played it.
i'm not a "gamer" by any means (i more or less lost track of video games after the N64 in the 90s), but i do really like some of these crazy new games. uncharted is a first person shooter game in the style of goldeneye, except WAY more involved and realistic. playing the game is like watching an interactive movie. it's insane. games these days! i do admit to wanting a wii, if only for the mario and zelda games. nothing beats their older NES, SNES and N64 counterparts and the wii ones seem cool too. unfortunately, i have a million other things i need to spend money on before a wii.
there's more thanksgiving stuff happening this weekend, but i'll write about that after it happens. all that's been going on otherwise this week is that i finished up my 10 christmas songs for pump audio. i hate xmas songs, but i am pretty proud of how these turned out, especially the pop-punk ones. the challenge of making them sound as slick as possible was pretty fun. i sent them out today. pump is announcing the winners for their contest on december 20th. otherwise, it might be too late to get any placements with them this year, but there's always next year. pop-punk will never die!
