Okay, before now I was only somewhat interested/excited about the new Beowulf movie, it being written in part by Neil Gaiman. Having listened to the first official Beowulf podcast, I have now discovered that the movie will be in Real D 3D, and that the closest official Real D cinema is.... AMC Rosedale Center 14. The new, Giant Borg Cube theatre, slightly less than three miles away from where I live. I finally have a small reason to actually like the Borg Cube.
I have seen one 3-D movie before now, in the old red-blue separation manner. Well, it wasn't exactly a movie, it was Philip Glass' Monsters of Grace. A live orchestra playing specifically-written music by Philip Glass to trippy, trippy 3-D imagery by Robert Wilson. I loved it to bits and wish I could go see it again. This is going to be unbelievably awesome.
Now 'scuse me while I go happily spastic (in the nice, harmless American meaning, not the offensive British meaning) in the corner.
