Who knew that there would be such a great guitar repair shop in the shitty town of Jeff City? I got my bass fixed. It took them a day (unlike the MONTH it would take if I got it fixed in Columbia), they cleaned it all up (I'll miss the blood) and I think they filed my bridge. New nut, labor, new Ernie Balls, $50. NOT BAD. It looks and plays great. On top of that, they swear they can fix my Ampeg and the Sovtek without having to send off.
Not much else has been going on really. Working a lot, coming home and chilling out with my cats and girlfriend. I checked out the Harry Potter festivites at Barnes and Noble and talked myself out of a flawless shop lifting experience. I could have walked out with both arms full of books and magazines without a second look. All the employees were busy taing little kids and handing out stupid plastic glasses to care. I'm not sure why I didn't go for it.
Alkaline Trio was amazing last night. The place was packed with 15 year old boys and girls. One Man Army opened and they are pretty high caliber for what they are. Fun time. I would very much like to see them again this summer. Too bad Pretty Girls didn't open like I thought they were. I totally dorked out with the guys next to me talking about what I hope they will play and sharing past Alkaline show experiences. I don't care, they are a great band.
I have a killer week next week. I need to squeeze a lot of fun into today.
