Well, of the three positions I looked at today, I was only qualified for one. The application is in the mail. Stamps're cheaper than gas. Actually, they're sorta cheaper than the internet, given that I could mail an application a day for less than I pay for the internet. Oh, the positions were for Community Living Coordinator (2 years required field experience, ability to give speeches (gak!), bachelor's degree preferred), Maintanance and Grounds Specialist (2 years experience plus basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills, no need to continue to list my inadequacies), and the one I applied for: Direct Support Professional, which appears to be a glorified CNA with office duties. That, I can do.
It's still depressing.
I also made several calls in an attempt to find out about the one license I do hold. FINALLY got hold of the right department. Yes, my license is inactive. I do not need to retake the whole course. I do need to take a 2 day refresher course, or have a RN in a nursing home or hospital do a checklist with me.
