no way....

I just got into Columbia University in the City of New York.

I'm speechless. I was just having a chat with James on how crappy my SATs were and just generally not being as good a candidate for Ivy League as other kids. My e-mail notification thing pops up and I'm thinking it's another SAT practice question - reminding me how crappy I did. Instead, it's an e-mail entitled "Columbia University Admissions Decision".

There it was.

The culmination of 4 years of APs and clubs and grades and life.

Double click.

Dear Kenneth.

Congratulations.

...

And the rest is history.

A great friend told me today: What happens today echo's an eternity. Granted...it's a stolen line, but relevant nonetheless. Today started out normal for some, for others it was a day of great reflection. Regardless of today's outcomes, we've all been presented with a choice. We aren't defined by a student number in a computer, a GPA on a report card, rankings in a list. We're people, and as such, we are defined by two qualities: bein' a hard worker and a good fella (RIP Steinbeck). Today will live on not because of success or failure, but because of the decision we make today. Do we move on? Do we dwell? Do we set on our hams and let it pass? Do we take action to keep us line? For if there is action, the break will not come. Whatever happens, don't let the break come.

Kenny
