Is anybody else watching Being Human right now? (Or previously, for that matter - if you were fortunate enough to get it when it first aired in the UK?)
I know of some friends on my flist who have mixed feelings about the transition from the original pilot to the series (and possibly some with unmixed feelings of flat disappointment), but I started with the series, and I think it's allowed me to bond with both versions of the show. I can definitely see merits to the original actors who played the roles, but I like other things about the current triad of actors. And they really aren't even the same three roles from one production to the next. Russell Tovey, as the one constant common to both permutations, continues to knock my socks off, week after week. In last week's climactic scene, he was such a darling little dork that I really was laughing and crying, all at the same time.
I think tonight is the season finale, and I've been so keyed up to watch it. (I just got home from an escapade involving alcoholic iced teas, playing in a public fountain, climbing into a boat statue, and the words 'basket-headed centaur.' It really is the BEST DAY EVER). And while I feel that the show deserves a more thoughtful commentary than this, at the moment, my primary thought is as follows:
I hope George doesn't cry again this week. If George cries, I will definitely cry!
