Laura's gone.

I.

I don't even know...just thought others would like to know.

Z, if she's not back in the two weeks we wait or whatever, I want her clothes. And her shoes. And whatever pictures she has. And the teddy bear I left there the last time I visited. And...I'll make you a list.

Megan? Is there...anything I can do for you right now?

[WILL YOU BUY ME ALCOHOL?!?!]

I don't think so.

[fuck he probably would. If he does for Bobby then...]

Well if you change your mind, for anything at all, you just come and let me know, okay?

Unless you're going to go buy me a bottle of tequila then I won't, Warren. Thanks though.

Why don't you come talk to me? Or I can come to you?

[the 'maybe we can work that out' is very implied]

[Oh...well then.]

I'm at the pool. The one where I used to live.

I'll be right over.

[and he hangs up, packs up a bag, and flies over.]

If I do this for you, the only part of the deal is that you drink it with me.

[She can't believe he's actually here, but she can handle that deal.]

Okay. But don't think I'm going to do a whole bunch of talking about feelings or anything.

[Though, she does have questions for him. Mostly about the other Laura.]

You don't have to talk. I've just gotta stick around to make sure no one gives you any trouble.

...or vice versa.

I wouldn't give anyone trouble. Well no more than usual.

[she watches him, but makes no move for a cup yet.]

And she was going home to good stuff, not like the other Laura that's an X-Man and got her arm chopped off. You guys suck.

[He thinks back to that day when Laura lost her arm, and it puts a huge frown on his face. That X-Force roster was not something that he'd been at all happy about, which is exactly why he and Logan had opted for scum bags like Deadpool and Fantomex instead. Kids had no place on a team like that, and it's something that he's not happy Scott had done.]

We do suck, yeah. We really do.

[...

he pours a shot or two into the first glass and hands it to her]

Things got much better for her after that, though. She left the team and went back to New York.

[She downs it and makes such a face after having done so. It burns and she hates the taste, but maybe it'll make her feel better or not feel. She doesn't want to feel.]

Yeah, but how much better is really better? Because just having a full arm is freaking better, Warren. It better be amazing for her now. She shouldn't have to deal with Kimura again. You guys need to kill that crazy woman.

Better's always relative. I would say she's better off than she's ever been, as far as I know.

[He pours himself some, but drinks it a little slower than she does.]

But our Laura who was here...she could be going back to something amazing, you know? I'd try to be optimistic about that.

She's got Kiden back at least.

[She scowls, and pours herself more but doesn't drink it yet.]

And others. I don't remember their names anymore. She told me about them awhile ago. She was living on the streets, I think...she was happy though. I think she was. She seemed to be. I don't think she was really happy here anymore.

I think it's hard for a lot of people to be happy here, you know? In general, at least. But she had you here with her and that made a huge difference. She was much happier than the Laura I knew back home.
