It's 99 degrees in Manhattan but feels like 103 with air quality and heat advisories. Our apartment has an air conditioner, so feel free to come over. I'm considering this my mitzvah for the week.

By the way, it seems our mysterious third roommate is gone. Weird. Do people just up and disappear in this place?

I think the humidity is more of a bother for people. It aggravates old injuries.

People who had broken bones and things-- even after they heal, humidity makes the old injuries ache. Especially in older people.

I'd tell you to die in a fire, but it wouldn't work.

You could at least turn down the smug.
