[ For the past week Bruce has been nearly completely engaged with outfitting the cave, and when he gets her call, it takes him nearly half the time it normally would to reach her. He uses one of the outcropped tunnels spiderwebbed throughout Seattle, and in true Batman fashion, he's there both unexpectedly and alarmingly fast.

His voice has a touch of urgency to it. ]

[ Poor Steph is sitting on the ground of her room, against the wall, twitching every now and again. She doesn't even try to get to her feet when he shows up. ]

I d-don't know. Looks like it's happening t-to a lot of-- [ The chip goes on the spritz again and the next thing she knows she's screaming. ]

[ He grabs her by the shoulders and lays her down against the floor to keep her from hurting herself while seizing. His jaw is firmly clenched and his brow knit with genuine worry-- continued subjection to voltage of this degree will eventually kill her. A plethora of different trauma could come from this.

He touches the side of her cheek to try to bring her back to him. He wants to take this away from her. His voice is softer, but firm enough to call her back through the pain. She's a strong girl. He knows she can take it.

He just doesn't want her to. ]

I need to sedate you, Stephanie. You're going to sleep for a little while. Everything's going to be fine.

[ She struggles to focus on his face-- or at least his general shape-- and nods jerkily. She can't breathe, she needs to breathe, and finally the electricity stops. The thing must be broken, because it's given her three quick, painful zaps in the last five minutes. Her eyes are watering and she keeps twitching, but at least the pain has stopped. Compared to this, being sedated would be a cake walk.

...A cake walk probably with needles. Why was it always needles? But she sat as still as she could manage. ]

[ Three injections, to be precise; a cocktail of Haldol, Ativan, and Morphine. It takes a very short time until she's under, and he's free to work. Bruce takes care to jury-rig an IV and pulls up the sleeve of her chipped arm. It takes him longer than he'd like to remove the chip after incision, because of it's sensitive nature-- he doesn't want to do any more damage. He's extremely careful not to.

Still, he finishes, and he inspects the chip with a furrowed brow before slipping it into his belt. Bruce has had... a lot of experience with these chips. He knows his way around them. He knows how to get whatever information he needs from them, and whoever did this. They were going to have a talk.

He takes care to dress her incision, and lays her to bed under a blanket. Keeps plenty of water near her, and replaces the IV one last time before he leaves. She'll want to move as soon as possible when she comes to, he knows, so when she does eventually wake, she'll find a note besides her bed with a single word on it.

[It wasn't until later that Kara realized Steph had been hurt, she had been off on the other side of the globe taking care of something and hadn't even seen the network. As soon as she did, she showed up immediately at Steph's place.]

Oh god, Steph!

[ Steph is starting to come to when Kara arrives, and she blinks away the sedatives at the familiar voice. ]

Kara?

[Kara wiped away a few tears that were starting to form when Steph started to stir.]

[ She tries to sit up, but can't seem to control her body just yet. ]

[Kara gave her a weak smile.]

[ She tries to get up again and fails, but spots the note next to her bed. "Rest" indeed. And then she flinches randomly. ]

That's gonna be annoying.

It's a few hours after you made your post. Looks like someone patched you up and sedated you.
