[Someone misses their Da D8]

Did ye know that most Irish folktales about the banshee speak of a woman? Usually she be murdered at a young age and wanders the world t’watch over her kin, screamin’ her horrible sound when their death be imminent. Sometimes she be older, or ugly, or a beautiful lass wrapped in a white shaw, but she was never t’cause death, only t’warn of it’s approach.

I remember hearin’ stories about her since I was a wee lass and wonderin’ if I’d ever see one with me own eyes. I believed me Ma had become one f’the longest time, but I suppose it be me Da and I that have always been payin’ homage t’the banshees instead.

[pause and then a sigh]

Do any of ye know of some places in Seattle I might be able t’try and find some real Irish cookin’? I be in the mood for a nice cuppa potato soup.
