Does anyone happen to know where I might go to get a good book?

[Amiably and cheerfully:] If you cannot find a library or a shop, perhaps you could write one of your own?

I'm afraid I'm not much of a writer myself. The one time I tried, it didn't end well. I suppose I could do some sort of travelogue, though. "Adventures in the Amsterdam of the Multiverse", or something.

Travel is an exciting affair. But what is Amsterdam?

You try the library?

I... that really should have occurred to me, shouldn't it. You'll have to forgive me, it's been a long time since I've had to leave my house to get reading material.

[wonderingly]

A library.

[ what what is this guy ]

You didn't think of a library on your own? Dude, how long were you in your house, then?

[ AZIRAPHALE DOES NOT REALLY BELIEVE IN THIS LIBRARY BUSINESS ]

Hm? Oh. I-- well, I used to own a bookshop, y'see. I suppose I'm a little spoiled.

Thank you, dear lady. I don't suppose you'd like to name names...?

Barnes and Noble, perhaps. Or any of the little bookshops one can find in Seattle. Right beside the coffeeshops, in most cases.

There's a place close to Lake Forest Park. I can't remember the name. But downtown would also have a few places you could explore.

That's very helpful, thank you.

Good. Any particular book you're looking for?

Oh, I found an awfully nice store yesterday. Do you like books, then?

Yes, I do. And it's been far too long since I've sat down with a stack of them. [sigh]

Was the store in Seattle, by any chance?

No, it was in Manhattan, though I do not think it matters very much where it is, when they will send you any book you like to your home.

[wistful] I do so want to have a stack of books for my own, only they are perhaps a little too small to read comfortably by myself now that I have grown. Do you know if there are books that are larger?

I once owned a Bible that was two feet long. I don't know if they have anything of the kind in this universe, though.

[aaaand, on a hunch--]

...how large are you, my dear?
