I spent this past week doing...nothing. My job ended last Friday--I was
supposed to go to school starting this week, but I dropped it. And I
don't have another job yet, so I ended up doing nothing at all for a
week. It's the easy way out. Luckily, I have enough from my last pay
period to allow me to not work for a while. But there are other things
I should be doing, and I'm putting those off as well. Like laundry.
It's nice that Amazon ships from Mississauga, my town Brampton's urban
neighbour. I made an order, and it shipped Thursday evening, and
arrived here on Friday. Enjoyably prompt. I got a
psychology textbook
for some "light" reading during my do-nothing stint. It's actually part
of a quest to find a new university major. If I can manage to enjoy
reading a textbook by my own free will, I figure that puts me at good
odds to enjoy psychology classes. We'll see how that works out.
It's hard to think of things to write about here, since I haven't been
doing much. I bought a bunch of junk food today, impulse buy, I don't
know why I do it, I hate eating all this stuff. Needless to say, I'm
pretty sick of Oreo cookies right now.
It's crazy what people do. The online casino Golden Palace won an eBay
auction that an expecting mother put up. She was auctioned off the
right to name her soon-to-be-born daughter. The casino won the auction,
and chose "GoldenPalace.com" as the baby's name. I think it's
outrageous that the mother would do something like this. All because
she "cannot come up with a name for her" herself. Maybe she didn't see
this coming. Regardless, she went through with it, and I hope the
baby's name is changed to something else soon before she is old enough
to realize she is being used as a marketing tool. Maybe this will
become a new marketing tool, following the "we'll pay you to tattoo our
logo on yourself" trend.
