while reading some reviews in a magazine, i decided to share my Top 10 Favorite Albums
10
Does This Look Infected
-Sum 41-
I didn't think much of Sum 41 until I heard this album. It's a complete set of thrash-punk, Iron Maiden-sounding mayhem and it showed me this group could rock out.
9
Fuck World Trade
-Leftover Crack-
This disc sounds like the background music to a ship sinking. If you can get over the Cradle of Filth-like vocals, it's pretty damn good album. The songs go together seamlessly.
8
Live from the Pharmacy
-Guttermouth-
Probably one of the five or six live albums that I really like. This one feels like you're at a real punk show.
7
Identity Crisis
-Thrice-
This album blends punk, thrash and hardcore together, and the result is amazing.
6
Self Titled
-Rage Against the Machine-
This album should be played in the background of protest videos. If you like angry funk rock, you'll love this.
5
Energy
-Operation Ivy-
This album changed my life, I'd say it defines ska-punk.
4
Pennybridge Pioneers
-Millencolin-
This one is just an all around good record. The fade out during the last song gives the album a nice touch.
3
The Greatest Story Ever Told
-The Lawrence Arms-
I recommend listening to this one while driving on a winter evening, it gives it the full effect. This is a sort of a concept album and TLA show a cathartic, spacey side to the pop-punk sound.
2
So Long and Thanks For All the Shoes
-NOFX-
A lot of people agree that this is the best NOFX album. It clocks in at 33 minutes and all the songs drive through each other quite nicely. I really like this album.
1
Stranger Than Fiction
-Bad Religion-
I'm not sure if many would consider this an amazing album, but for me personally, i love the whole thing. All the songs are good and i like the feel of the entire sound of the disc. Also, a guest vocal spot from Tim Armstrong on one of the songs.
i definitely left a lot out, but these are the ones i could think of off the top of my head.
woo!
