Ugliness

Over the past week, I witnessed a verbal war of words between two friends that... I wouldn't say affected me a lot emotionally, but left me thinking about the incident quite a bit. I don't quite know what the point of this post is or what I'm trying to get at, but I think that fight made me realise a lot about how ugly some people can be.

1. Pure ugliness shows through the best when shit happens.
(Similarly, pure goodness shows through the best when shit happens.)
Having known you for some time, we slowly grew apart because I didn't like who you were as a person as I got to know you better. So even though I knew you were the kind of person who treats people well only when you want something from them, I only truly got to see how dark and ugly your heart is after what happened. Even though I try my best not to judge people and treat most strangers with the innocent-until-proven-guilty mindset, you have now fallen into the guilty-until-proven-innocent category of people.

2. There are some friends that you are just better off without.
Those are the kind that only come to you when they are in need and expect that you ought to help them even though they've never helped you before and even though your friendship is at the stage where you aren't very far off from being merely acquaintances. Friends like these, you don't need. Just keep a small circle close to you whom you know you can count on and you know can count on you.

3. I abhor it when people can't be professional and learn to draw the line between personal emotions and work.
If I had a likes and dislikes list, this would fall under the dislikes column written in bold red caps. It wasn't just this incident that made me realise this, but this resonated with me even more because I've experienced unprofessionalism even when I handle cocoquettes stuff, be it liaising with suppliers or bloggers that do advertorials or customers, unprofessionalism just absolutely irks me. The fact that you can't be professional about things and think that you're gonna make it big in the future, I don't know how you managed to reconcile those two thoughts.

4. I feel so sorry for all the girls who've ever had to be with bastards/MCPs just like him.
It's not so much that I pity these girls, but I just feel so bad that they've had to endure his arrogance, his cockiness, and how he thinks he is above everyone else. Especially since one of his ex-es was a personal friend, after seeing what kind of a person he really was all I could think was "Omg, how could such a nice girl have ever deserved to be with a bastard like him? I'm so glad that she got out of it." Right now, I just feel so incredibly bad for your current girlfriend, all I can hope is that she realizes soon enough how ugly you are deep down inside and leaves you so that she can find someone better.

5. To have to resort to personal attacks so you can feel like you have the upper hand is just LOW.
You're obviously not even being objective when it comes to this, and you think you have the right to lecture people about how "despicable" they are?

6. Do something that you enjoy, that you love. Because people who work only for the money - they are the saddest little beings on Earth.
The fact that you had to blow up something as trivial as this just shows how calculative you are. I mean, what did I expect right? You are, after all, the kind of guy who openly expresses that all you are after is money, it doesn't matter what you do to get that money. Words can't express how sorry I feel for you.

7. Don't blame others for your own inadequacy.
If you are screwed the day before an exam, even God can't help you. Don't expect that people are obliged to help you, nobody owes you a living. You can ask for help, but chances are, help will only come if you deserve it. Remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch in this world.

These were just some things that I thought I'd pen down somewhere so that I'd remember them better. :) I know that as a person, I am so far from perfect. On many occasions, I've said or done things which I regret, and I don't always like how I am as a person. But let this be a reminder of how ugly some people can be on the inside, and for me to never be like them.
