Work sucks, as usual. Just as I've adjusted to my new supervisor Brittany's working style, she's put in for a new position at work, which she got. The new girl that we got for the department, Ashleigh, was very nice and was quick to learn how we do things, but she only stayed with us til Friday because she was offered a better job working at a school for the summer. I have no idea when Brittany's new position starts; hopefully not too soon because they need to find someone to fill her spot, and I am NOT going to do that. People asked why not, and I replied that I don't want that responsibility and don't want to be full time since even part time I'm watching the clock waiting to get the hell out of there. I also don't want them wasting time training another pricing/sales lead just for her (me) to leave not too long after taking it. Shop-a-thon is next week and I have no idea what my schedule will be like, but I'm mentally preparing for the worst, which would be 5 straight days of overnights. Us pricing associates will have plenty to do because we have day-specific sales that we'll have to put signs up for, so we'll be keeping busy I'm sure. Greeeeeat.
Ashley and Jimmy said that they'll throw me a (late) birthday part next month at Jimmy's house. We have to wait for Jessica to come home from college because it just wouldn't be right to do it without her...plus it's not like we have a whole lot of mutual friends - I bet it'll end up being a mini Central kids reunion or something. I think Ashley and Jimmy's motive for the party is to just get me drunk. I have yet to actually be drunk. The closest I've been was at Rick's place when I drank enough to have poor coordination but still think and speak perfectly clearly.
I hate the weather now. Humidity sucks. End of discussion.
My birthday really is over now. Today I got my birthday present in the mail from Rick. He was saying how he felt bad that it wasn't enough or that he couldn't think of anything good to get me, but he got me exactly what I said I wanted, so I say he did a good job. I got an unexpected birthday surprise in the mail today too - Rick's mom mailed me a belated birthday card all the way from Scotland. She wrote a very sweet letter too. In it, she explained that she secretly copied my address off the envelope of the Valentine's day card I sent Rick. She's funny.
Less than 2 months until I move in with Rick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's still needing to see if there's a better place for us to move into besides just me moving into his current apartment...he also needs to ask his landlord if I'd be able to do that in the case that we can't find somewhere better. He's stressing out about it, so I don't pressure him about it; I trust him to figure things out. I've already started packing, but only little things like part of my glass fish collection. I get bored on the weekends and feel like putting my stuff in boxes. My room looks a little weird now though.
In June, we'll be having a yard sale on base during their monthly base-wide yard sale. I hope to get rid of some odds and ends as well as my old bike, in order to make a small amount of cash and free up some space. I hope the weather will be nice enough for it though. Sitting outside for several hours during the summer doesn't sound like the best idea to me, especially when I have no place to go inside, since the sale will be on base instead of in our driveway.
I was nearly attacked by a freaky flying insect this morning at work. It looked like a black wasp, though a little bigger, and had this long threadlike thing hanging from it that was 2 to 3 times longer than the bug's actual body. I swatted at it with the signs that I was holding but it kept coming back towards me. Luckily, it wasn't a fast insect and eventually flew away. Wes, the custodian guy, wouldn't kill the thing when it was sitting on the pile of outdoor throw pillows because he said those insects probably eat mosquitos, but I think he was just enjoying the fact that I, as well as a few other females in the area, were obviously freaked out by it. Males are stupid.
I'm sleepy and needing to shower and get ready for work tomorrow. I wish I had the day off tomorrow. I can't take another Thursday off of work - I called in last Thursday, claiming I didn't feel well. I feel very lazy at the moment and don't want to do anything at all, but I must get ready for stupid work :(
On Saturday, my family will be celebrating my grandpa and his wife's 25th wedding anniversary at a restaurant. My Aunt Vicki flew in for the week, so I'll be seeing her there - I don't get to see her too often since she lives in California. So that'll be cool.
I need a haircut badly, but I don't want to call to make an appointment with my normal hair "stylist" (not that I get it styled, I just get it cut and layered sometimes). I only know my schedule a couple days in advance (it comes out normally on Thursday), so I always feel like Bobbi, the chick I go to, will be booked up or something. Plus, I'd have to call her cell phone which I think is just weird, and I don't know where her new location is anyway. So, I guess I'll suffer from too long and too thick hair for a little while longer until I can stop being dumb and actually call.
Ummm...I need to get off the computer! Adios...
