Провел отпуск 5. The Ring Of Kerry.
The Ring of Kerry - I was thinking about a ride on it since I came to Ireland. I was told by travel guides that this is a place that is worth to see. Well here we are in Killarney - our start point on the Ring OF Kerry.
I you take a map of Ireland and will find Killarney it is clear that you can drive in both of the directions on the Ring - clockwise or counter clockwise and you still will be on the right route. We took the clockwise directions, and we were wrong. Let me explain.
All tourists buses are heading CCW from Killarney because stunning scenery starts almost immediately that way. And after about 2 hours of amazing views you become unreceptive and even tired because of landscapes. And the pretty long road along totally dull hedges, like a pause to keep your impressions together. And a short ride through the pass in the end of the route near Killarney just a short flash of interest just before the journey ends.
We did vice versa.
We left Killarney and took our cource to the East on the Ring. The beging was promising. Mountant pass with stunning view. It was Raining there but still impressive.
But after that it was about an hour and a half of absulutely nothing-to-see-road. Green hedges, little villages, lonely houses. I was really disappointed - "where's the hell all the beauty I was told about?!". Narrow stripe of white white sand and rock didn't count.
but then - we reached the coast line. And climb a littel on the mountaing road to the fisrt view point. I should say I saw this veiw several times as photo and made a photo by myself. But It's hard to show on the picture the whole magnificence of that place.
after this scene. I felt that nothing would touch me today any more. So we were just driving, looking around and talking about nothing. And I was looking for gas station with the cheapest price. It is hard to find cheap fuel on the tourists route.
I stopped on the station in the and of the mountain part of the Ring. Lovely view on the R561 opens from there, it was interesting to take a look on there road where you were yesturday but from the absolutely another point of view.
