The last few scenes weren't clearly in the "flow" of the show. I guess this was only added to conclude at least some of the stories of the series.

The thing with Olive was only one scene, like you see after movies, when there's an explanation what the main characters did afterwards.

E.g. in Capote, there's later somehting like "This was the last novel written by Truman Capote. He died ladidaladida."

So til the last moments the episode was quite normal and only like one minute was filled with a couple of scenes telling what the main chracters did.

i agree. it was like: uh we have to show something, so the fans wouldn´t be upset about the ending :(

yep, that's what i thought, too. it was obvious they were trying to wrap up the missing ends for the audience and deliver a 10-minute ending that would answer any remaining question. i must say, i liked the way they did it. i wanted an ending - any ending - instead of it being left open and uncertain. and i got that. i loved how every location featured throughout the two seasons was shown again and i loved that it ended the way it began: with digby running down that hill. it was wonderful.

just very "spontaneous".

The original ending was probably Chuck at the door of the aunts and cut out. Obviously the Chuck cliffhanger everyone was talking about. The last minutes were a combination of archive footage and CGI shots telling what happened to them so that it doesn't end on such a huge cliffhanger. It somehow worked, but it still is not the same thing like a real finale.

I for once would have loved to have seen more scenes between Chuck and her aunts. I have been waiting for this confrontation for the entire series. While I am happy that it happened before the show got cancelled, I would have liked to see more reactions and Ned trying to explain his gift to the aunts.
