Today was the Chicago stop on the Touch of Wonder Tour! I met up with fellow Pieholers Ziggy and Jenny (didn't get their LJ names - ladies, if you see this, let me know and I'll edit) and a few other cool PD fen and then I took a bunch of pictures!
This is the trailer itself.
And some close-ups.
The promo banners on either side of the trailer.
The balloons tied to the banners and a close-up of the same.
They stuck these to the sidewalk leading up to the trailer.
Pre-opening set-up and the HUGE pile of pies.
My pie! I think it's apple, but I'm waiting for my boyfriend to get home to share it with him, so I guess I'll find out in a bit. :) The image on the side of the pie label is the same as on the promotional banners.
The TV showing clips from the show and interviews with the cast.
They had these underneath each TV.
These guys set up next door, which was awesome because it got hot.
SUCH a typical Lincoln Park crowd.
(Lincoln Park is the "suburbs in the city" neighborhood - lots of Starbucks, stroller moms, and Vuitton bags.)
The lovely ladies who gave us stuff. There was also a guy who inexplicably reminded me of Matthew McConaughey, whom you can see in the first picture.
The adorable bikes the girls would ride around on. One little girl totally tried to steal one.
The magnet frames they gave out. My boyfriend and I are going as Ned and Chuck for Halloween, so I already know what picture I'm putting in there. :3
The spatula and pie server we received.
Not!Matthew McConaughey also ran the trivia contest. He asked a question, the first correct answer won a DVD.
1. What genre of literature does Emerson like?
2. Who is the show's narrator?
3. What does Chuck call a refrigerator?
I got the third one right (and the first one, but that was a test) and I gave my DVD to Jenny because I already have one. They also had trivia at 12:30, but I left before that.
If anyone else was at the Chicago stop, feel free to post your pictures and comments! I'll edit the post to add them. :)
