spring break: (so far)

Apr 07, 2004 22:14

sorry i havent updated in so long, i guess i just get too lazy sometimes.

my spring break started after lunch on friday. i got out early from school and left for Santa Cruz. long drive it took like 7 hours! but was worth it. my grandmother turned 70 on april 1 so she was throwing a big party for herself at a beach house up there. all my relatives from that side of my family came (my dads) and we had a great time. i only get to see all of them like once or twice a year cuz they all live in the bay area so this was a big deal. its always wild when we get together cuz there are ten grandchildren, eight of which are boys, six of which are under the age of ten. it kinda sucks to have only one cousin your age. but it can be good at times too.

thanx to all who texted me while i was away.

on our way back home on monday we stopped at my aunt and uncle's in san louis obispo (my moms sister if you were wondering). i saw my cousins kevin (or kj as we call him, his middle name is john) and emmersen. kevin is three and emmersen is only about four monts old. she's so cute. i love little cousins. we spent the night and drove home tuesday.

then tonight we hosted a seder meal with a bunch of our friends and their familis - no kids my age though. only one of the families was jewish, so they said all the prayers in hebrew during the ceremony. we all had a good time - the food was great. then we watched my big fat greek wedding, and i decided to post this one line:

don't let your past dictate who you are, but let it be a part of who you will become.

i thought that was really meaningful.

it kinda sucks that spring break is already half over, and i haven't done a bit of homework...crap!

i'm going to church three times this weekend cuz i play in the band at one of the services, so were gonna play tomorrow on holy thursday, on good friday during our stations of the cross reenactment, and of course - easter sunday. i've really gotten a lot out of playing music at mass.

hurray for the start of baseball season! giants all the way this year...hells yeah!!

if anyone wants to do anything for the rest of break let me know cuz i have nothing planned.

congrats amy on your confirmation. i can't wait until next year when i get confirmed.

i love this song:
Come on, oh my star is fading,
And I swerve out of control,
If I, if I'd only waited,
I'd not be stuck here in this hole,
Come here, oh my star is fading,
And I swerve out of control,
And I swear, I waited and waited,
I've got to get out of this hole

But time is on your side, its on your side, now
Not pushing you down, and all around,
It's no cause for concern

Come on, oh my star is fading,
And I see no chance of release,
And I know I'm dead on the surface,
But I am screaming underneath

And time is on your side, its on your side, now
Not pushing you down, and all around,
No it's no cause for concern

Stuck on the end of this ball and chain,
And I'm on my way back down again,
Stood on the edge, tied to the noose,
Sick to the stomach

You can say what you mean,
But it won't change a thing,
I'm sick of the secrets,
Stood on the edge, tied to the noose,
And you came along and you cut me loose,
You came along and you cut me loose,
You came along and you cut me loose

had to share that

things are getting back to normal, sort of

wow this entry is long
random too

i'm done
