Deux ans

Two years and counting.

I phoned my cousins in Montréal last night because I felt like I hadn't spoken to them in the longest time. (I really haven't. I think the last time I saw them was two years ago at my mom's memorial service.) Brian's wife Ali is pregnant for the first time (at 37) and the baby is due on Christmas. It kind of scares me because despite the fact that Ali has wanted kids since they got married years and years ago, Brian has stayed firm about not wanting kids. Ali said it was a surprise and sounded a lot more nervous than Brian did. She's going to make an amazing mom, though, as long as Brian isn't a dick about it.

Karen is also pregnant, but I only got to speak to her for a few seconds. She said she'd call me back later, but she didn't. That's okay, though, I know she must be busy with Justin and work and whatnot. She seemed really excited to hear from me so I'm sure she'll call back when she has time. I have to work every night starting tomorrow, though.

I'm bored so I'm going to post some pictures that have no purpose at all since I wasn't there, but I think they're neat. They're from my parents' wedding in 1984; I stole them from my aunt and uncle's computer.

Brian and Karen 22 years ago, as kids.

My grandpa, my mom and Karen. She was the flower girl but since she was older they called her a "junior bridesmaid." I love that.

My grandpa always looks pissed. But I think that's because he thought my dad was a hippie.

My parents and both sets of grandparents. It amazes me that my dad's parents are actually standing next to each other because my granny despised my grandad.

I wish my mom's dress was still kicking around because it's definitely not one of those nasty, poofy dresses from the eighties. It's actually nice. I think she probably sold it.

Okay, so maybe my dad was (is) a huge hippie.
