So much has happened
Wow. So much to remember to put here.
I started my job in Philly working as a nurse. I love my patients! The unit I work on specializes in the elderly and they are so awesome, even the ones suffering from dementia. While some days are tough, most days I feel good about what I'm doing and that is what matters the most.
I'm learning to play the harp which is awesome too. We're renting-to-own a 5-octave lever harp that is almost as tall as me. It's great!! I'm slowly building up my finger calluses, although the one time I gave myself a doozy of a blood blister.
We got a cat! Our friends were kind enough to gift us one of theirs because they have too many pets. Blossom is so friendly with everyone and amazingly soft (since she's part Angora). She's such an attention whore though, this morning she wouldn't stop meowing until I petted her for a half an hour. Christian even lets her sleep with us which is the strangest thing ever since he doesn't like pets. She's totally won him over.
Christian has been doing some home improvement/organization. Someday we will have this place totally clean for more than 5 minutes!
Our fourth of July trip to Indiana was fun. We got to see a lot of low-level professional grade fireworks set of in the middle of a development because in Indiana you can blow up anything in celebration of our country's b-day. Mike's neighbors set off a display that they created themselves which was pretty awesome. And we drank Italian sodas, which are my new favorite drink. :D
So, life has been going really well. It's a relief after the horror that was last year. With everything moving along so smoothly, all I have to focus on is losing 5 lbs so I can fit into the dress for Jessie's wedding. Christian and I have made it a competition, since he loves playing games so much. Too bad he's already winning!
