Summary: For some strange, unfathomable reason, Rosalind's daughter's decided that Joonmyun is going to make a good husband in the future. Well.
Sometimes, Rosalind actually hates how crowded Hong Kong is. It's a small city with over seven million people and more now because of the immigration policies, and that just means that the city is almost packed to the seams especially when it comes to periods of time like the weekends. Causeway Bay is probably filled with more tourists than locals, and it doesn't help that the shop that she's purchasing some of the herbal medicines she usually gets when the season changes from autumn to winter is right smack in the middle of the touristy district. It's also ridiculously easy to lose her daughter even though Rosalind's told Joanne multiple times to sit still and don't move but after she pays the shopkeeper and turns around to find Joanne completely missing again, Rosalind just knows that she's wandered off somewhere. Sometimes Rosalind thinks that her daughter does this on purpose, just to see if she can give her mother an aneurysm.
It's why she's fighting her way through the crowds and trying to look for a four year old in a baby pink dress - how far could she have gotten in the five minutes that Rosalind hadn't been paying attention? Not very far, but far enough that she's starting to feel antsy. She's definitely a little bit more relieved when she finally catches sight of Joanne right smack in the middle of the open courtyard in front of Times Square, and she's talking to a young man that she's accosted somehow (dear god, she needs to tell Joanne again never to talk to strangers because what if something happens).
"Joanne," she says sternly, her arms folded across her chest and looking down at her wayward daughter with a very displeased expression, and there's perhaps a bit of satisfaction that comes with seeing her wilt a bit and attempt to hide behind this stranger's legs. "What did I say about walking off and talking to strangers?" And while her daughter is being sufficiently cowed by Rosalind's disapproval, she looks up at the poor stranger who's somehow maybe managed to catch Joanne's attention - he's young enough that he could possibly pass for one of her students, but it's probably the blond hair that had captured her daughter's fancy. "I am so, so sorry about this - I hope she wasn't bothering you?"
