Summary: When Junsu brings in a patient, he encounters Doctor Kim.
It was just another day as a paramedic for Kim Junsu. Normally he had a partner with him, but today his normal partner had called in sick and it was just him. As luck would have it, he'd gotten a call for a domestic violence case. Those were always tricky to deal with; one never knew if the assailant was still there. And even if they weren't, then chances were the victim wouldn't press charges. But that wasn't his problem; he was there to solely take care of the victims, take them to the hospital and make sure that they were okay.
Just as he'd expected, the woman wouldn't press charges, but he insisted on taking her to the hospital. She protested, but he managed to calm her down enough to get her into the ambulance. Once at the hospital, he nodded to an intern, who helped him wheel the woman on the gurney inside.
The day had been pretty average for Jaejoong. Classes happened early in the morning and he rolled into the hospital that evening, already feeling a bit tired, but that was his life. He had to keep it up, if only for another year before he could focus on just the residency hours. His life would finally just sort of plateau until he had to take on a fellowship or get fully liscensed. He wasn't looking forward to more tests, but hell, you had to do what you had to do.
It was a few minutes later when he got around to the woman, and the nurse had already gave her a quick checkover for anything serious and Jaejoong gave a small smile and nod to her, then the paramedic probably waiting for a sign off. He recognized the uniform, if not the face. Still, he just looked back at the woman. He let his expression soften for a moment, and he could tell she was still a little shook up, and Jaejoong really didn't need the flash of memory she smacked him with to just nod. "You don't have to tell me what he did...I'm just going to double check and make sure you're okay." He gave a small nod, waiting for her to nod back at him before starting through the general exam.

Watching, Junsu couldn't help but smile at the doctor's bedside manner. The woman was instantly at ease and let him check her over. It wasn't as bad as it could have been, and maybe a social worker could talk to her and help her. It was standard practice for Junsu; whenever he brought someone in, he always wanted to see how they were going to be.
The exam was pretty routine. The woman seemed pretty much like she looked worse than she really was. Mostly cosmetic bruising and a hurt ego. Though, Jaejoong couldn't help with that. He also couldn't really help whatever was going on if she wouldn't talk. Even if he knew, he couldn't say anything, so, he just sort of gave her a sad sort of smile before waving over one of the nurses to take the paperwork to the head doctor on duty. He looked over at Junsu. "You'll have your form to sign soon and you can go."
"Thanks. Is she going to be all right?" Junsu asked, instantly concerned about the young woman. He looked over the doctor and grinned. "I haven't seen you around lately. Are you new?"
"She'll be fine. It's nothing major..." He almost felt tempted to say something along the lines of 'this time' but decided against it. Instead, he just tucked his pen back into the pocket of his coat and smiled some. "Not really. I just have weird hours. Never stay the same from week to week."

"Ahhhh..I don't know if I could do that. Then again, my hours probably aren't much better." Junsu gave a brief smile, then gave a polite bow. "I don't think we've met before. Kim Junsu."
"I don't think anyone that works at a hospital has normal hours...." He shook his head a bit. Hell, even the administrators and heads of departments were called in at all hours of the night. "Kim Jaejoong." He nodded, bowing a bit, but not enough that he'd need to shift his clipboard much.
"Nice to meet you, Doctor Kim." Junsu looked around, noting that it was finally starting to lighten up. "Care to join me for lunch, Doc?"
Jaejoong turned a bit, looking around. "My shift isn't technically over for about an hour...then I have class." He smiled some. "Maybe a raincheck? Weekends are a little less crazy for me."
"A raincheck it is. I'll hold you to that doc." Junsu smiled, pleased. He was finally speaking out, getting to know others of his chosen profession. Granted, it was much. But it was a start. He grinned, waving, before taking his clipboard and heading back to his ambulance.
