So I'm having an algae problem in two of my 2.5 gal Betta tanks. They are cycled so I don't really want to tear them down and scrub everything. There is algae on the walls of the tank as well as a stringy kind of algae coming from the filter. Both tanks are planted with Java Moss, Java Fern, and Anacharis. Each fish is fed THREE pellets of food at least once a day, sometimes they get a second meal but they always eat all the food they are given. There are ghost shrimp in both tanks as well, 1 in one and 2 in the other. I have never ever put any sort of fertilizer in any of my tanks. They get a decent amount of light everyday because they are in the bedroom but I was under the impression that algae would die anyway if there wasn't enough food. I have ordered duckweed and snails and they will be here by the end of the week, hopefully the duckweed and the little snails will control the problem but is there anything I can do in the meantime?
