In time we grow comfortable.

You know how sometimes when you are dating somebody you know that it’s just time for it to be over. Well that’s how I feel about my career at Tully’s. 4 years is a very long time, especially for somebody my age to keep the same job. I’ve learned a lot during my time there. I have learned the corporate life is not for me. I do however get some sort of strange satisfaction from customer service. The nice thing about doing something to close to 40 hours a week for 4 years is you actually know what you are talking about when somebody has a question for you. You don’t have to lie or stall until you can ask a manager. Eventually everything becomes predictable. I can make a latte blindfolded ( A skill I have shown many a noobie). I can make a latte in 25-30 seconds. This means that by the time the drink order has left your mouth and you have paid for your drink, chances are the drink is already ready for you to consume. That is the sign of a veteran barista, speed, and efficiency. I have learned many lessons I will take with me to my next job.

Today I have a meeting with my manager to discuss my future at Tully’s. Little does she know that I fully plan on quitting. Not today, but as soon as I have found a job in the cooking world Tully’s will be able to kiss my ass. I’m done there. Tully’s hasn’t done anything but upset me for the last year. It’s time for me to leave. Odd thing is I’m prolly gonna be quitting while my manager is out of town so I don’t actually know who to quit to.
