[He steps in, but doesn't move all that far into the room. Mostly, he's afraid of stepping on something. Ironhide knows he's huge - he doesn't want to upset Mike any more than he already has.]
... I... did not... mean you had to leave, earlier.
[His eyes do look brighter knowing Ironhide wasn't chasing him off, he doesn't feel quite so alone now. Despite knowing how obnoxious he is when he's clingy ... Mike's still clingy.]
[The tone makes him blink. But that's all - on some level, he understands, and doesn't comment. He doesn't move, just nods, hunkering down a little against the wall.]
[Mikey's not gonna tell Ironhide about his nightmares, he wants his robot buddy to think he's cool. Of course sitting there with a teddybear might not be helping.]

Oh ... hey.
[His eyes light up ever so slightly, but it's a far cry from his usual reaction.]
Reply
... We... should speak.
[He's not very good at this.]
Reply
Um, okay.
[He steps back slightly to let him in.]

Huh?
[Give him a moment.
Bit more.
There it goes. Recognition dawns on Mike's face and he fidgets.]
Oh ...
Reply
Just... trying to keep you safe. Being in the area is... dangerous. Being too close.
[Ironhide shrugs.]
Wanted to protect you. Not... tell you off.
[Pause.]
... Trying to apologize.

It's okay.

Not... good at this.
[He rolls his shoulders, and glances at the door.]
Should I go?
Reply
[It's spoken quickly and with a tone of desperation. He really doesn't want to be alone right now if he can help it.]
I mean ... uh ...
Be kinda cool if you stayed.
Reply
If you wish.

Just thinking and stuff.

[He's trying to be supportive... and stuff. As best he can, anyway.]
