Well, Chandra and I had a good Thanksgiving. We went to my parents' place, but the power went out just before noon. We waited for about an hour before realizing that it could be awhile before it returns, so we trekked up to my brothers' place in Clio. It was a good time. Tried to watch the Lions game...but that's just depressing. So we ate some turkey, and played some Scene It. My brother beat me, but just barely. He was sweating.
Work's going well, but I didn't really NEED the five day weekend just yet...November's a weird time to start a new job. Because I had almost a week off, and now in December I've got another one coming. Crazy. But I love what I'm doing. And there are four choir/band concerts coming up for me to film/edit and then author DVD's of for sale. The money basically goes back into my video account which I am responsible of. I have a program on my computer for purchase order generation which is pretty sweet. Just whip up one of those babies and ship it to my boss...it makes life easier. I'm glad that I'll be getting more projects on my plate because I felt pretty useless my last few days there. There wasn't much for me to do.
Although I DID get into an 'altercation' over e-mail with a teacher who told me that I "AM" going to put the projector in the exact middle of her screen (even though the cords don't reach and it doesn't matter...she's just really anal about stupid stuff from what I've heard). We use the side of the white board instead of the center to save on cords...silly I know, but it's what we do apparently. Anyways, I got the joy of not having to deal with her and simply forwarding that crap onto my boss. I love not being in charge! :) And on a good note, I got a call from a teacher who couldn't get the announcements to play on her projector, only on her TV, so I went in there and realized that someone had switched her cords around (usually students) so I fixed them and showed her how to work it from there on out and she was eternally grateful. It was a nice feeling to actually help, not just hinder. I want to have the attitude of being there FOR the teachers and students, not being there WITH them, you know? My job is to help, I want that perspective.
I hope everyone is doing well.
OH! And has anyone heard of this "Restless Leg Syndrome"? RIDICULOUS! Pretty soon we're going to say that blinking is due to a rare nervous condition. I'm sure SOME people have real issues...but Kramer put it perfectly by describing it as the "Jimmy legs" and nothing more. Even the comics made fun of it today...Marvin & Bitsy (formely just Marvin) showed the dog sleeping and his legs running as dogs do in their sleep, and the kid asked if he was chasing squirrels and he stated how that's a common misconception and that it's actually due to 'doggy restless leg syndrome'. I tried to find it online but didn't search REAL hard.
