FictionPress, Plagiarism...
So my long dead LiveJournal account has been resurrected. This is due to the fact that so many wonderful FictionPress authors have fallen victim to plagiarism as of late. While the whole situation has been really unfortunate, I greatly appreciate that most have decided to continue posting on LiveJournal where they can have better control over their work.
I was FictionPress lurker (reading without an account) so many of the authors that I have been following (some for years) have no idea who I am or what I am about. That being said, I recently created an FictionPress account so that I could contact authors about cases of plagiarism that I came across at places like wattpad and scribd. I have begun posting reviews from that account and plan to be more active here as well. I am very much an advocate for authors because I realize how much time and effort goes into a well written story.
I hope that the move to LiveJournal means that I come across less and less plagiarized pieces when I do random searches. I have my fingers crossed.
