[There's silence on the other end for a bit, and Yomiel seems to be slumped in his chair, his face expressionless. There's only the sound of tapping as he involuntarily taps his fingers against the wood of the chair.]
Revenge.
[He pauses, as if trying to think of what to say next.] The dictionary tells us that revenge is "The action of inflicting hurt or harm on someone for a wrong suffered at their hands.". But somehow, I think it's more than that. For human nature is so complex that you can's simply say "oh, he's hurt, so he's going to hurt others."
But whatever the definition is, it's certain that revenge is something not to be take lightly. For the person who is willing to seek revenge- they must be strong enough to go through it. They must risk everything to return everything that has been done against them.
[He lets out a laugh.] You know, it's odd. True, there is that risk, but what about a person who has already lost everything? They could go ahead with it without worrying about any backlashes of their actions. I think the dead would be the best at taking revenge...for what could happen to them as a result? Their lives are already gone from this world. They're invincible. They can't feel guilt over what they'll do. They can't be punished.
[And Yomiel falls into silence. He's been thinking over it for a while, what he did, the people he killed, the plots he made to make the world feel his pain...and he's only starting to realize that maybe, just maybe, he was in the wrong.]
[And he mutters under his breath, barely audible:] If that's so, why do I feel so bad about it...?
dead men tell no tales,
revenge is a dish best served cold,
woobie destroyer of worlds,
let's be philosophical together,
secretly a good guy on the inside
