SHELBY'S QUESTIONS
1)Now that you're almost halfway through college, which of your views on the world, if any, have changed?
I've realized that the world has a lot more to offer me and that there are many "right" answers. I guess I used to think that there was an ultimate way of doing things and now I realize that there are so many ways to complete the same task or to result in a certain feeling. I used to look at the world and be somewhat scared of all that I didn't understand in it, but now I want to learn everything I can and I realize there isn't much to be really afraid of after all.
2)Going with the question above, which views of yourself, if any, have changed?
I used to think that I had to please everyone, but I'm getting better at pleasing myself and doing things that are right for me even if others don't understand or agree. I've realized that I'm smarter than I gave myself credit for and, while I used to be fine with just settling into a life that people expect for me, I can do more and I want to do more.
3)What is your favorite possession?
My photo collection. My photos are something that can make me happy no matter where I am and they hold so many memories for me. They're special for who they show but also for the fact that they are something I produced. Each moment captured in them is one that I found worthwhile and thought to be an important part of my life.
4)What do you want to name your first child?
If I have a son I would like to name him after his Dad. I always wanted a Junior, though I wouldn't call him that! If I have a girl I'd like something simple like Anne or Mary.
5)What song speaks to your soul?
