So I live in a Northern climate, right? With the snow, and the long winters, and the Aurora borealis, right?
Some people even try to tell me that I should be riding my pet polar bear right now.
So why has it been four frillion degrees outside for the better part of a week? Oh, that's right: humidity. My city's built on a giant, filled-in swamp. Sure, no problem: Humidex readings pushing the temperature over 115° F? I can do that - except, no, I really can't.
All I want to have for dinner is
this. (It's not my Mum's recipe, which she learned from a truly ancient old lady in Barcelona, but it seems close.)
I've been practically living on this salad/salsa thing I make with chopped up fresh pineapple, green chiles, garlic, ginger, fish sauce and herbs. (Thai basil - mmm) If I could force myself to grill a chicken breast (pan-grilling only, since I live in a barbecue-less house, alas!) I'd have grilled chicken and rice and pineapple whatever-it-is, but as it is, I'd rather just stand in front of the fridge and shovel fruit into my face. (Classy, I know.)
O ye politicians who don't think that global warming is a real problem, come on 'a my house...
This quiz charms me... (gakked from
