I am feeling nostalgic for college today, so I made a $50 donation to my school in memory of my favorite professor of all time. Next week it will officially be one year since the passing of Brother Donald Mansir. Next summer I'll celebrate my 5 year college reunion. Nothing seems quite like it used to be, and for that I am both sad and grateful.
I miss the ease of friendships and relationships in college. I miss walking over to someone's apartment or running into them in the dining hall, and deciding to make plans on the spot. I miss the spontaneity of college. I miss eating pies from Marie Calendar's on the floor of our South Claeys suite. I miss Adrienne all the time because we don't talk regularly anymore.
I miss Brother Donald a lot, especially lately with everything I'm dealing with at work. He is the sounding board I'd love to have right now.
Anyway, I Googled Brother Donald today and found a blog that someone posted last year about him. I wanted to share it:
