There is a mansion in the English countryside. It is not strictly a normal mansion, by any standards of the word. After all, a normal mansion doesn't give you everything you could ever wish for. Normal mansions also don't tend to have superheroes sitting in an ungainly pile on the kitchen floor -- unless, of course, it's a costume party. It most certainly is not.
Ted was in a kitchen. This was definitely not Switzerland, unless Checkmate headquarters had transmogrified into a fancy-looking manor house. It looked a bit like how Ted imagined Wayne Manor would look, except -- well, creepier. From almost being shot in the head to a fancy kitchen. Huh. He hadn't heard a boom tube, he was fairly sure on that point.
Could always be magic? That would be reasonable if anyone had known he was going to Switzerland. Hell, he hadn't even told Booster. Well, magic or not, he had to get back. Someone had to stop Max Lord, and apparently the duty was meant for him. So, Ted did what any superhero would do. He got up cautiously and headed for the door, looking for a staff member -- or heck, even the owner would be nice -- to tell him just exactly what the hell was going on.
"Hello? Anybody home?" He called, peering down a suspiciously empty hallway. Maybe it was a hallucination?
